Instructions for New and Returning Players
Prepare all the excerpts for your instrument. The numbers (flute audition music 1, for example) do not indicate relative difficulty or parts within a section, like first violin, third horn or second flute. If any of the excerpts for your instrument are too advanced or difficult, you may indicate that in your audition video, but please do your best. Players auditioning for MYSO for the first time, who find all the excerpts too difficult, may play the assigned scales and a short prepared solo instead. Returning players will only play the excerpts and assigned scales.
Strings play scales up to four sharps; winds play scales up to four flats.
