MYSO Handbook
All members are expected to comply with the guidelines in the MYSO Handbook.
MYSO Concerto/Composition Competition
Each year, MYSO hosts a Solo Concerto/Original Composition Competition to identify a talented and deserving member to perform a concerto or a composer to have their work for orchestra performed, in concert, with MYSO.
The Student Composition Competition is being held for the 2023-2024 season and will be held every other year. Student composers enrolled in high school, an undergraduate degree program, or a graduate degree program are eligible. For submission guidelines and instructions, visit New Music Engine. Deadline is November 15, 2023.
The MYSO Solo Concerto Competition will resume during the 2024-2025 Season and is open to current MYSO musicians. Video auditions will be accepted thru October 2024. The winner will perform their concerto at one of MYSO’s 2025 spring concerts.
